Extruding is a technology that changes the physical and chemical properties of feed raw materials by subjecting it to high temperatures and pressure in an extruder. This process has several advantages. Firstly, extruding breaks down complex carbohydrates into simpler sugars, making the feed easier to digest for animals, especially for young animals which is our focus. In addition, the process destroys potentially harmful bacteria and, for example, germs, resulting in safer and healthier feed. Because the process destroys potentially harmful microorganisms, the dependence on antibiotics in animal feed is reduced, which in turn reduces the risk of antibiotic resistance. Additionally, extruding minimizes food waste by extending the shelf life of feed and reducing the risk of spoiling. Van Tuijl has acquired a strong position within the animal feed industry due to two distinguishing factors: enormous capacity and flexibility. With our production capacity, we can extrusion large quantities of raw materials without compromising on quality. These economies of scale allow the company to meet the growing demand of the feed market, while at the same time maintaining our competitive prices.
