P.C. van Tuijl was founded in 1962 on Dorpsstraat in Opheusden. The founder of the company, Mr. P.C. van Tuijl, was the son of a miller. Already in his youth, he learned the milling trade in his father’s mill. After a short period as a representative in the animal feed industry, he started a feed mixing company.

In 1997, Mr. P.C. van Tuijl officially handed over the company to his sons, who have since formed the daily management. Since then, the company has expanded and modernized at its various locations. Investments have been made in milling, extrusion, mixing, and bagging lines, as well as in increased storage capacity for bulk and packaged goods. In the fall of 2022, the firm celebrated its 60th anniversary, which was extensively commemorated during the official jubilee day in May 2023. This festive day coincided with the opening of the new headquarters on Batterijenweg and the unveiling of the new company name, Van Tuijl Feed Enrichment. After 60 years operating as P.C. van Tuijl Kesteren in the world of Feed, the time was ripe to modernize its appearance to better align with the company’s image in the market. Van Tuijl has built a reputation and has become an indispensable player in the production of young animal feeds and pet food.

Quick expansion

He was meticulous in composing recipes and was always eager to improve the product based on customer feedback. In 1970, P.C. van Tuijl Kesteren B.V. moved to Tielsestraat in Opheusden. In 1975, the company shifted from feed production to service provision. As the production of young animal feeds increased, a location was opened for these activities in 1987 on Batterijenweg in Kesteren. This allowed the Opheusden location to expand its activities such as milling, pressing, and drying. It soon became apparent that an expansion of drying capacity was necessary. In 1993, a third location was opened on Marsdijk in Lienden for unpacking and drying wet and packaged products.

The year 2023 was a remarkable one for us. On May 12th, we celebrated our 60th anniversary, during which our new company name and corporate identity were simultaneously introduced. Our name changed from P.C. van Tuijl Kesteren B.V. to Van Tuijl Feed Enrichment. The new, yet familiar look, aligns with the professionalization process we have undergone in recent years. On this day, our new office building was officially opened by Mayor A.J. Kottelenberg.
